On October 11, 2019, the China Development Bank (CDB) and the China Scholarship Council (CSC) organized a freshmen symposium in Beijing for the RUC-CDB 2019 Cohort. Being the recipient of CDB Scholarship award for Year 2019, we have attended the seminar and got a chance to represent Pakistan, Business School of Renmin University of China (RMBS) and Habib Bank Limited (HBL).

CDB Scholarship students from other countries and representing different universities also participated in the seminar. The seminar was chaired by the Deputy Director CSC and Deputy Director CDB. We were provided with an opportunity to express our gratitude for this scholarship and being able to pursue our Masters in such a prestigious institute. It was such an overwhelming experience for us to talk about our living and study experience at Renmin and in Beijing. In addition to that it was an honor to share the provided opportunities and our achievements in such a short span of time, as Aneela has been qualified for the Case Study workshop conducted by Professor Majid Ghorbani (Academic Director IMBA) which is a very unique experience and will aid her learning in case study based courses and Awais Shabbir has won an internal competition at RMBS to represent Renmin at an Investment Competition organized by Yale School of Management.

Prior coming to RMBS, we found that International MBA ranks at No.39 in the world according to Financial Times (2018). RMBS is an initial member school of Global Network for Advance Management (GNAM) which gives MBA students the opportunity to pursue intensive study at another network school, in a focused mini course that leverages the perspectives, programs, and faculty expertise of that school. Alongside their counterparts from elsewhere in the network, students attend classes, tour local businesses, and meet with experts focused on current business problems. The IMBA center at Renmin tends to nurture their huge alumni network which will really be helpful in extending the partnerships beyond the classroom.

All of this has fueled our desire to pursue International MBA from Renmin Business School which would introduce us to best global practices in the field of business, economy, finance and banking.

China Development Bank leading the scholarship program, in 2006 launched the first scholarship in China funded by financial institution for overseas students. In accordance with the national economic diplomatic strategy, it aims to promote friendly cross-cultural exchanges and to encourage joint efforts to build a prosperous and peaceful world in the long run.

Since 2018, Renmin University of China has received scholarships from the China Development Bank. A total of eight international students have studied for a master’s degree at Business School, the School of Finance and the School of Public Administration.
