GNW: Women & Digital Entrepreneurship
- 2018-03-22
University of Indonesia was established in 1849, one of the oldest and fastest growing universities in Indonesia. However, Indonesia as a country still struggles to close gender equality gap. Basically, the equality was linked to social norms, difference of education levels, lack of access to general services and cultural factors. Especially, most Indonesia women in the past chose not to work in a company and became a full-time mother because the local norm is that the husband provides for the family and the mother care for the family. Therefore, women tend to be more lacking in terms of their capabilities and have limited access to the digital world. Until now there is 47.5% of 1327 million people who is a women internet user in Indonesia, but still not effective in term of business development.
