Syed Zain Reza Zaidi,  IMBA Class of 2026 (Cohort 2024)

Before joining the International MBA program (IMBA) at Business School of Renmin University of China, I with an engineering background have worked as a Relationship Manager in Habib Bank Limited’s corporate banking division for over two years. I have always been passionate about expanding my horizons and understanding global business dynamics, thus, being a recipient of the China Development Bank Scholarship to study at Renmin Business School (RMBS) for the IMBA program has truly been an incredible honor and a significant milestone in my career, also a transformative experience for me, both academically and personally.

Renmin University of China (RUC), renowned for its legacy of excellence, has exceeded my expectations. The courses I have undertaken at Renmin Business School (RMBS), such as Corporate Finance, Managerial Accounting, and Managerial Economics, have been both rigorous and rewarding. The emphasis on case studies and real-world applications has enhanced my ability to think critically and solve complex problems. The faculty’s expertise and the opportunity to engage with peers from diverse backgrounds have added immense value to my learning experience.

Living in Beijing has been equally enriching. Beyond academics, I have enjoyed exploring Beijing’s landmarks, such as the Forbidden City and the Summer Palace, and immersing myself in Chinese traditions and cuisine. The city’s vibrant energy and the kindness of its people have made this journey even more memorable.  The city is a fascinating blend of rich cultural heritage and modern innovation. Experiencing life in a cashless society, where even small transactions are digital, has been an eye-opener for me. It reflects the forward-thinking nature of China’s economy and offers inspiration for countries like Pakistan, where the digital transformation is still gaining momentum.

As I move forward in my MBA journey, I am excited to continue learning and to bring the insights I have gained at Renmin University back to my professional life. I am deeply grateful to the University, the China Development Bank, the Renmin Business School and everyone who has supported me in this transformative journey.
