Former Enel CEO Francesco Starace

As CEO of Enel, one of the world's largest electric utilities, Francesco Starace had faced a number of stakeholder challenges that he saw not as unrelated, but as conjoined constraints on the company's long-term success. By issuing two comprehensive dicta, he set into motion a company-wide transformation that unleashed innovation, shifted its business, forged new ways to engage communities, and resulted in a near doubling of the company's market value.
