2. Do I have to take the GMAT or GRE test to apply?
Yes. A competitive GMAT or GRE score (no older than two years) is mandatory for all international applicants. International applicants with a bachelor’s degree must submit an official GMAT or GRE score as part of the IMBA application. Currently, a minimum score of GMAT 550/GRE 285 is recommended. Please check GMAT/GRE score exemption waiver in the below Q&A entry.
International applicants with financial hardship might be eligible for a voucher for the GMAT/GRE test fee waiver. Please submit your application for the fee waiver via the GMAT/GRE Test Fee Voucher or contact imba@rmbs.ruc.edu.cn for further information.
Note: Successful applicants with the GMAT/GRE Test Fee Voucher can provide the fee waiver code when register for a GMAT/GRE appointment. The GMAT test full fee waiver, under some circumstances, is only valid for test center delivery before a scheduled time and cannot be used for the GMAT online exam. The GRE half-price waiver is not available for the test-takers in China’s mainland or India.
Please note that the GMAT/GRE score is only one of the criteria for the evaluation of applicants and the exact score is not the decisive criterion for the admission or rejection of any application.
-
3. Can I be exempt from submitting GMAT/GRE score or delay the submission?
A competitive GMAT or GRE score is mandatory for our IMBA program application, but under special circumstances, RMBS waives the GMAT/GRE score requirement for some international applicants. International applicants with a master's or higher degree in Business Administration, Economics, Management, or related fields are exempted from the submission of a GMAT or GRE score report.
Furthermore, international applicants with a conditional admission offer can delay the submission of the GMAT/GRE score report till prior to the commencement of the fall semester of the enrollment year. The submission delay should not be mistaken for a waiver.
Please note that the GMAT/GRE score is only one of the criteria for the evaluation of applicants and the exact score is not the decisive criterion for the admission or rejection of any application.

If you are awarded a scholarship for the first year of studies at RMBS, you will be notified at the same time you are informed about your admission to the program. Please visit Financing Your MBA page for more information.
All scholarships are contingent on academic performance in the program and may be revoked in case the focal candidate's GPA falls below the threshold or the candidate violates any rules and regulation.
Please note that the IMBA scholarships are paid to the students at the end of the semester/school-year and AFTER all relevant fees are paid in full. If your scholarship is the IMBA scholarship, please ensure you will have sufficient funds to pay applicable fees such as tuitions.
